Holly Hart, MSN, APRN

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Hi, I’m Holly Hart. I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for whole-person mental health care. Outside of work, I’m a dog mom, an amateur baker and home chef, and someone with a deep sense of wanderlust who values travel for the perspective it brings and the way it broadens how I understand people, cultures, and lived experience.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and went on to become a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Through my training and clinical work, I fell in love with psychiatry and discovered a deep sense of purpose in helping individuals from all walks of life move toward greater mental wellness, resilience, and fulfillment.

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I am a licensed mental health provider who diagnoses psychiatric conditions, provides therapy, and prescribes medications when appropriate.

I work with adults from all walks of life, cultures, and religions who are experiencing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, substance use disorders, and eating disorders. My approach is integrative and collaborative, combining evidence-based medication management with supplements, therapy, psychoeducation, and lifestyle-based interventions. I partner closely with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan that feels aligned, thoughtful, and sustainable.

My integrative approach is guided by the following core beliefs:

  • A mental health diagnosis does not define a person. Rather than treating symptoms alone, I focus on the whole person and their lived experience to restore health and promote resilience.

  • Medication can be a powerful tool, but it is rarely the only answer to achieve happiness and mental wellness. By spending adequate time with my patients, I can help you identify resources such as therapists, support groups, exercise regimens, supplements, nutrition plans, and spirituality in order to target your unique needs.

  • The mind, body, and environment are deeply interconnected, and mental wellness is most achievable when these elements are working in harmony.

In addition to outpatient care for adults, I provide consult-liaison psychiatric services in both the emergency department and on medical inpatient units at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In this role, I collaborate closely with interdisciplinary medical teams to support patients with complex psychiatric needs in acute care settings.

I am actively involved in teaching and mentoring nurse practitioner students both at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and within my private practice, working with trainees from various programs, including Vanderbilt University and Yale University. I enjoy providing psychoeducation, training, and professional development for clinicians and professional groups.

Recent speaking engagements have included:

  • Professional development staff training on ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and resiliency for an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization

  • Project ECHO Behavioral Health series presenter on an integrative approach to bipolar disorder treatment (case-based mentoring program supporting community pediatric and primary care providers through specialist collaboration)

  • Continuing education for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta outpatient psychiatric NP new hires on the fundamentals of integrative psychiatry

Licensed in Georgia, Maryland, Wyoming, and Tennessee.
